ABOUT
Stunts Adventure Equipment

STUNTS Adventure Equipment was founded in 1992 by Mark “Shoobi” Knutson in West Linn, OR. The Eclipse Container System and the Eclipse Student System were drop tested extensively at Skydive Oregon with a fantastic test team that included Blake Robinson, Robert Glaser and an enthusiastic ground/video crew. Once FAA TSO approval was attained, production was initiated and the Eclipse brand was born. The Eclipse Sport and Student container systems immediately gained popularity in the Pacific Northwest. By 1995, Shoobi moved the operation to La Selva Beach in Northern California and hired Tim Mattson as Production Manager.

Once relocated and FAA paperwork completed, STUNTS Adventure Equipment began servicing not only the West Coast of the US but became a very popular rig among skydiving enthusiasts and professionals world-wide. The Eclipse Sport System was a well sought after rig for skydivers in competition relative work, big-ways and World Record formation flying, skysurfing, freeflying, video flying and freestyle. STUNTS sponsored a number of teams and flyers recognizable by the “STUNTS Factory Pilot” embroidered on the front harness cover flap. Many of these rigs are still in use today.

In 1997, the Eclipse Tandem System was developed by Shoobi to provide DZO’s the complete tandem system. The elimination of most all Velcro created the industries first all tuck tab tandem system along with creating unparalleled comfort in both harnesses and paddings. The Eclipse Tandem System became extremely popular world-wide with some still in use today.

PASSING THE TORCH
After over a decade of successfully manufacturing and delivering the Eclipse container line world-wide at STUNTS AE, Shoobi’s talents were being pulled towards Hollywood and long term movie production projects. A group of interested Northern California DZO’s organized to purchase STUNTS and the Eclipse brand.

STUNT MEDIA CONTENT

Today’s media has created a global platform for the distribution of fast evolving stunt ideas. Stride Gum’s “stunt of the century” featuring Luke Aikin’s “No Parachute Jump” into a suspended net, David Blaine’s “Ascension” balloon/hidden parachute/wardrobe are a few high profile examples where Shoobi’s expertise assisted the stunt teams successful efforts.
